a cousin's lookout

A 10-22 mm lens can distort to the point of ridiculous, if you're not careful around the edges. But in tight spaces that make the fixed fifty throw up its hands, I'm grateful for my wide-angle. It creates vertigo and exaggerated scale when that's what you see with the naked eye: a little boy dwarfed by the fantastic accomplishment of his father's treehouse prowess.

I loved this photo even before I noticed the little boy, which only made me love the photo even more.

And: I think I have that selfsame tree in my garden. Maybe a cousin.
